The $400 Lure from Japan

Here’s a first for you die hard fishermen and fisherwomen: a $400 lure ($410.99 to be exact) from Japan.  Wow!!!  Think about all the possible things you could do with $400.  You could make that car payment that’s late every month or buy that Mind Control Helicopter you’ve always wanted.

What about that Window Washing Robot.  This guy can wash your windows while you’re out fishing.

Well, Roman Made (Yes, that’s the name of the company that makes this lure) has created a lure so expensive you’d have to be crazy to buy such a thing.  Try telling that to the current tying World Record Largemouth holder Manabu Kurita.  He uses the lure on a daily basis.  This wasn’t the lure that caught that beast that made headlines, but on a later outing, he hooked onto a giant estimated at 28lbs but lost it using (yep, you guessed it) the $400 lure.

Roman Made Mother Swim Bait

The name of this lure is called Mother.  It’s a hard bodied swim bait made from wood hand picked by the creator of the lure himself, Toshinori Takeyama.  He finds the wood with the best density and quality.  Each lure is handcrafted with attention to detail in mind.

Every aspect of the lure is considered from split rings to hook quality, even the signature on the lure is hand written.  This wooden lure takes about 10 hours to complete and measures about 12 inches long.  At such a hefty price, this lure must catch some monster bass, right?  Here’s a quick video of how the lure is made.  As you can see, every part of the manufacturing process is done by hand.

Would you buy a Lure for $400?

I’ve put my take on the Wired2Fish YT vid regarding these large sb lures. Let me recap; 1. big fish don’t really eat big lure if you fish long enough. 2. small lures catch all kinds of fish. 3. Cheap lures gets them like crazy. Trust me. I’m the best at what I do. If anyone object, I have a 6″ Got’em Coach in Red Ear Gillz for sale. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
